The cheapest fare on any route is the one with no refund. Soar is built around a single idea: pay for that fare, add the Refund Guarantee at checkout, and cancel for any reason before departure with the money back on your card. No other search tool in our table sells that on a basic economy ticket.

Soar Flights Inc. launched the iPhone app on 24 July 2026, with Android and a web app at soar.flights alongside it, and new versions have been arriving about once a week since. The App Store listing opens with a stopwatch, “Book a flight in literally 2.4 seconds”, and the line is a stunt with a real mechanism behind it: a saved traveller profile that turns a repeat booking into one confirmation.

One screen, every seller

The results page puts the airline’s own price and the booking sites’ prices for the same flight side by side. A Lisbon to Vienna departure can show up twice, from two sellers at two prices, and you pick the cheaper one without opening a second tab. Filters cover airline, stops, total duration, cabin class and the departure and arrival windows; a flexible calendar shows how the fare moves across neighbouring dates, and a price alert watches a route you are not ready to buy yet.

Booking carries, in the company’s own words, “no added booking fees or surprise charges”. The price on the results page is the price on the card statement.

Then the app takes over the part of flying that nobody enjoys. Check-in happens automatically for eligible passengers, a schedule change arrives as a notification with the new times, the boarding pass sits in the app, and support opens with your booking already on the screen. Sky, the assistant, answers over iMessage or plain text as well as in the app, so “which gate” or “move this to Thursday” typed into a message thread comes back answered with the booking in hand.

The Refund Guarantee, and when it pays for itself

This is the feature that earns Soar its place at the top of our table. It is an add-on you choose at checkout for a fixed price shown before you pay. It gives you the right to cancel the whole booking for any reason up to the scheduled departure of the first flight, in that airport’s local time, and get back everything you paid Soar for the ticket, taxes and fees included. The airline’s fare rules do not enter into it. A basic economy seat that the carrier would never refund comes back in full, less only the guarantee fee itself.

The rules are short. One cancellation per booking, covering the whole itinerary. The window closes when the first flight departs. Refunds go back to the original card within ten business days.

When does it pay? Almost always when the ticket is bought early. A fare bought four months out, around a job, a visa appointment or a relative’s health, carries a real chance of change, and the airline’s answer to that chance is its flexible fare, priced for business travellers. Soar’s answer is the cheap fare plus a small known fee. For a fixed conference date bought a week before, skip it and keep the saving; the choice is yours at checkout every time.

Without the add-on, Soar passes on whatever the airline’s own fare rules allow, so the guarantee is the box worth ticking on any fare you are not certain to fly.

How the company works

Soar sells the ticket and runs the guarantee; the flight itself is the airline’s contract with you, as with any booking site. The terms, updated on 2 September 2026, describe the company as “a limited technical agent”, which in practice means Soar handles the booking, the changes and the refund, and the carrier handles the plane. On data, the about page makes two promises in one line: traveller details are “never sold” and “never used to train models”. For an app that keeps your passport number and card on file, that is the promise that matters, and it is in writing.

A price-drop refund, returning the difference when a fare falls after purchase, is announced on the site as the next feature. New accounts get $15 off the first flight, checked in September 2026.

Our score, and where Soar fits

Soar gets 4.5 out of 5, and the basis is printed at the top of this page: a refund guarantee that works on any fare, added for a known price, on the very first booking, with no card membership or loyalty status required. That last part is the difference from the two older names on this site. Booking.com’s Genius discount grows with your history and American Express Travel’s perks need the card; Soar’s guarantee is available to a first-time user on a one-way ticket.

Its place in a trip is the flight, bought early, while the dates are still slightly soft. Buy the cheap fare, add the guarantee, and let the app carry the check-in and the changes. A holiday that needs the flight and the hotel in one basket with one rewards balance is a different product, and for that people go to Expedia; a room on its own is a Booking.com question.
